MadridFFF Curated III Edition

The United Kingdom was the special guest country for our third edition and as a result we were happy to count on the British Council´s support for various events within MadridFFF.

In November 2015, we hosted a series of workshops as part of British Council´s program Dressing the Screen. Dressing the Screen a program complete with workshops, meetings and projections has traveled from the Philippines to Bosnia, passing through Portugal, Slovenia, Georgia, Indonesia, China and Russia, creating an international network of film directors from the fashion world. For its edition in Madrid, the celebrated British director, Alex Turvey joined us for three days and imparted a workshop at the Instituto Europeo di Design for students and new talents interested in making fashion films. As part of the celebration and closing element of the workshops we hosted a screening of fashion films created in past editions of Dressing the Screen from all over the world in Centro Cultural Conde Duque.

During the days of the festival and thanks to the British Council´s support, Alex Turvey returned to Madrid to give a conference about he “accidently made a fashion film” and the academic senior from London College of Arts, Andrew Lee, gave an unforgettable lecture about the evolution of fashion film.

Moreover, the British Council curated a selection of British fashion films in collaboration with SHOWstudio that was exhibited during the Festival.

And, lastly, at the awards ceremony we had the pleasure of hosting the Ambassador to United Kingdom in Spain, Simon Maley and he was kind enough to award the Honorary Award to British designer Gareth Pugh.
