  • 12:00 – 22:00 “Silent Cinema” thanks to Audio-Technica. Exhibit of the official selection of fashion films.

CINEMA

  • 17:00 MADE IN SPAIN EXHIBIT: Exhibit of national fashion films from the Professional and New Talent categories.
  • 18:00 COSTUME DESIGN IN CINEMA: ADAPTATION AND SUBVERSION: Noel Ceballos, Diego Salgado, Elisa McCausland & Lucía Lijtmaer analyze costume design according to the different cinematographic genres.
  • 19:30  FASHION FILMS AS TRAMPOLINE TO FILM:  Presentation by Danny Sangra the director ofGoldbricks in Bloom, his first feature film made after his initial trajectory creating fashion films.  MFFF PREMIÈRE: Goldbricks in Bloom de Danny Sangra.  Feature film about a group of creatives in NYC who question the value of their lives and work.
  • 21:30 SPECIAL SCREENING: Kusama: Infinity.Documentary made by the film director Heather Lenz. The artist Yayoi Kusama and some experts discuss her life and work, beginning with her modest beginnings in Japan and becoming an internationally recognized artist.

  • 16:00  MFFF PREMIÈRE: A Perfect 14Feature film directed by Giovanna Vargas Morales that explores the world of plus size models and the women that are fighting to change the fashion world.
  • 18:00  MFFF PREMIÈRE: Maddman: The Steve Madden Story Documentary made by Ben Patterson about the history of the famous business man Steve Madden who appeared in “The Wolf of Wall Street.” The film depicts the resurrection of the shoe empire.
  • 19:30 Honorary Award Exhibit. Exhibit of a curated selection of fashion films by the recipient of the IV edition Honorary Award, KENZO.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 17

  • 16:30 SPECIAL GUEST CURATED FASHION FILM SELECTION: JAPAN. Exhibit of a special curated selection inspired in Japan.
  • 17:00 AND THE NOMINEES ARE… EXHIBIT. Exhibit of the nominated fashion films from MadridFFF IV edition.
  • 18:00 PREMIÈRE: Yohji Yamamoto: This is My Dream by Theo Stanley Short that gives a special view of the life of avant-Garde artist and designer Yohji Yamamoto and his collaboration with Adidas for the Y-3 SS/10. From The cinematographic lens, intimate interviews and access to the artist’s work, it explores the history and concepts that define this icon. .
  • 18:30 SPECIAL SCREENING: Notebook on Cities and Clothes. Introduction by Debbie Smith. Feature film made by Wim Wenders about the life and work o of Yohji Yamamoto, which is reflected from the director’s vision and the Japanese’s work while also showing his vision of fashion.
  • 20:30 SPECIAL SCREENING: Sakuran. Introduction by professor, historian and movie critic Santiago Rubín de Celís. Feature film made by photographer and Japanese film director Mika Ninagawa.  As a girl, Kiyoha is sold to become a geisha in Yoshiwara, the red district of Edo (now Tokyo). Despite hating this world at the beginning, she ends up confronting her destiny and fighting to becomes an oiran, a high range courtesan.
